About
Sydney Morgan is the Education & Communication Coordinator for IMPACTT at the University of Calgary, and the Communication Coordinator for CS-DCC at Simon Fraser University.
She is a microbiologist by training and holds a PhD in Biology from the University of British Columbia Okanagan, where she studied wine microbiology and biochemistry. During her doctoral studies, she also worked as a lecturer at Okanagan College, where she designed and taught a course for a brand-new program.
Sydney completed her postdoctoral research at the University of California San Diego, where she studied COVID-19 epidemiology and the pregnancy microbiome. Before moving back to her hometown of Kelowna, Canada in 2023, she spent two years in Calgary with IMPACTT.
She is passionate about science education and teaching, and about communicating complex topics in an accessible way.
