BPS Low-Income Country Travel Awards

Amount

Complimentary meeting registration + $3,000 in travel funds — 4 awards per meeting

Alternative reports:

• $500 USD each — minimum 50 awards per meeting

Eligibility

BPS members who usually attend the Annual Meeting but cannot due to a current lapse in funding (loss of grant, unemployment, etc.).

Deadline

November 7, 2025 (passed for 2026) — expect mid-November 2026 for 2027 meeting

Alternative reports:

• Same as other BPS travel awards (early October)

Application Requirements

Cover letter explaining funding lapse + 300-word research summary + CV (max 2 pages).

Location: Rotates US cities (2026: San Francisco, CA; 2027: Philadelphia, PA)

Research match: Structural biology, biophysics, single-molecule methods, NMR of proteins (Abeta, alpha-synuclein, prion) — direct fit for Wishart's structural biology program.
