Drawn from a per-workshop pool of €5,500 reserved exclusively for travel grants and registration fee waivers; individual caps set per event

  • Up to €500 per travel grant (€1,000 for participants working in labs in Chile, India, Singapore, Taiwan)

Eligibility

Participants of EMBO Practical Courses, EMBO Workshops, EMBO | FEBS Lecture Courses, EMBO | EMBL Symposia; allocated on the basis of abstract quality; any nationality working anywhere in the world eligible.

Deadline

Apply when submitting your abstract or motivation letter for the specific event

Application Requirements

Application within the event registration explaining why your lab cannot fund your attendance and how attendance will make a difference to your career. Original signed receipts required within two months of completing travel. Applying for support does not affect the registration decision.

Notes

Registration fees are only covered for EMBO Practical Courses or EMBO Workshops. Organizers may reduce the grant cap to accommodate more participants. Registration fee must still be paid even when receiving a waiver.

Location: Across Europe (EMBO | EMBL Symposia at EMBL Heidelberg, Germany; workshops rotate)

Research match: EMBO covers a wide range of life-sciences topics; many events directly relevant to metabolomics, NMR, computational biology, structural biology, AI/ML, precision medicine.
