ISCB Dependent Care Grant

ISMB/ECCB 2027 — 35th Annual Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology, flagship conference of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), held jointly with the European Conference on Computational Biology Europe
Amount

$600 USD

Eligibility

Must be an ISCB member in good standing (active membership at the time of application and during the conference) and must have a submission accepted for presentation in which the candidate is the presenting author. Any presentation type is eligible, but priority is given to members presenting talks.

Application Requirements

Application via the Dependent Care Grant page for the relevant ISMB edition, demonstrating ISCB membership in good standing and an accepted presentation with the candidate as presenting author. Funds are to be used toward expenses that facilitate the member's attendance.

Notes

Not a general travel grant — restricted to dependent-care-related expenses that enable attendance. Requires an accepted presentation with the applicant as presenting author.

Conference Information

Dates: ISMB/ECCB 2027: July 18 – 22, 2027

Location: 2027: Bella Center Copenhagen, Denmark

Research match: Wishart has been an ISCB member since 2001. ISMB is the world's largest bioinformatics and computational biology conference and the natural venue for the database/tool side of his program — HMDB, DrugBank, NP-MRD, MiMeDB, MarkerDB, PathBank, PHASTEST, BASys2, PlasMapper, Heatmapper2 — plus AI/ML for spectra prediction (CFM-ID) and metabolite biotransformation prediction (BioTransformer). Relevant co-located tracks include 3DSIG (structural bioinformatics, matching his protein-NMR/structure work), CompMS (computational mass spectrometry), MLCSB (machine learning), Function SIG and ICBO (ontologies/biocuration). The 2028 edition in Calgary is a short domestic hop from Edmonton.
